Goal
Design a high-energy Player Exclusive (PE) cleat for Bryce Harper that reflects his personality and story, while creating a concept strong enough to extend beyond footwear into a broader product offering.
Approach
“Mad House” pulls from Bryce Harper’s summer trips to the Jersey Shore and the electric energy he brings to Citizens Bank Park. I translated that into a bold look with a deep purple base and hits of vibrant pink, green, and yellow. To add more storytelling, I brought in a pink and purple swirl inspired by boardwalk rides and included the “I Love You” hand sign Bryce throws up after home runs.
For apparel, I leaned into a Shore Store–inspired direction, using neon colors, collaged imagery, and heavy plastisol prints with low mesh screens to give it that loud, textured feel.
Outcome
The “Mad House” concept evolved from a single PE cleat into a multi-category collection, ultimately launching at the start of the 2026 MLB Spring Training. The extended timeline allowed for a more cohesive and commercially viable story across multiple product categories, strengthening both the narrative and market impact.
