Goal
Create a signature experience for Justin Jefferson’s 2026 Flight School Camp that connected his personal journey, Louisiana roots, and bold personality into a product story that could energize the nation’s top high school wide receivers. The objective was not only to deliver a standout limited-edition cleat, but also to build a complete visual identity system for the event that felt aspirational, premium, and unmistakably Justin Jefferson.

Features work from artists Bisa Butler, and Anna Williams.

Graphic Toolkit

Approach
For Flight School 2026, our team decided to bring forward The Bayou King cleat as the central storytelling vehicle for the camp. The concept was rooted in Justin’s rise through Louisiana football to becoming a National Champion. The story traced his path from competing against elite talent in the South, to earning an offer from LSU as a 3-star recruit, to ultimately becoming a generational athlete.
Because Justin is known for his confidence and expressive style, I leaned into a loud, high-energy color palette that reflected both his personality and his journey. Every color carried narrative intent:
Purple and gold referenced LSU and his championship legacy.
Red represented his high school, Destrehan.
Blue symbolized royalty, reinforcing the “Bayou King” identity.
To deepen the storytelling, I deconstructed the Under Armour logo panel and reattached it to the upper using a blanket stitch construction detail. This was inspired by the rich quilt-making traditions developed by Black artists like Bisa Butler, Anna Williams throughout Louisiana. Allowing the cleat to connect sport, fashion, and regional culture through craftsmanship.
Once the footwear direction was established, I expanded the visual language into a full event toolkit that included uniforms, apparel, and supporting graphics. The goal was to maintain the same loud energy and layered storytelling across every touchpoint. The graphics and all-over sublimation treatments aligned with the growing visual trends within 7v7 football culture, while the bold color, aggressive patterning, and Justin’s star power helped the product stand apart in a crowded space.
